Cork, Ireland musicians visit Café Paradiso in Fairfield, Iowa on April 23, 2010. The Mairtin de Cogain Project consists of Mairtin de Cogain, from Cork, Ireland, Norah Rendell from Vancouver, Canada, and Brian Miller from Minnesota. Norah and Brian had traveled to Ireland to study and play Irish music and met each other in Cork. They also met Mairtin in Cork and formed this band. Norah and Brian are also in the band The Two Tap Trio and have released the CD "A Night at the Fair." Mairtin has also been a member of The Fuchsia Band and has released several CDs. The Celtic Tiger in this song refers to Ireland's boom time until the worldwide recession in 2008. The Irish were hiring a lot of foreign workers (e.g., Poles,) for odd jobs until then. (Just the Irish?) The Anglo-Irish refers to the bank that played a part in the boom-bust situation.
