Ozzy and Dolly, Jimi and Elvis, along with Bob Dylan and more are makin' music history this week!

July 7 2007: Ozzy Osbourne becomes the first artist to receive the honor on Birmingham's own Hollywood-style Walk of Fame. The singer told more than 1,000 fans on Broad Street that the brass paving star meant more to him than any Hollywood accolade.

July 8 1967: The Monkees start a 29-date tour with The Jimi Hendrix Experience as support act. Hendrix was dropped after six shows after being told his act was not suitable for The Monkees' audience.

July 9 1962: During an afternoon session Bob Dylan recorded "Blowin' In The Wind" at Columbia Recording Studios in New York City. Dylan originally wrote and performed a two-verse version of the song at Gerde's Folk City on April 16th, 1962. Shortly after that performance, he added the middle verse.

July 10 2002: Dolly Parton played the first date of a 13-city tour in New York. It was her first tour in decades.

July 11 1971: The Bruce Springsteen Band opened for Humble Pie at the Sunshine Inn, Asbury Park, New Jersey.

July 12 1957, Elvis Presley gets his first UK No.1 with 'All Shook Up', (his tenth UK single release), where it stayed at No.1 for seven weeks.

July 13 1942: Born on this day, Roger McGuinn, guitar, vocals, co-founder and sole consistent member of The Byrds. Happy birthday Roger!
