Laura Campisi Sicily Revisited - Facci Di Luna (Italian American Museum, NYC, 6/1/14) - Video
PUBLISHED:  Jun 24, 2014
DESCRIPTION:
This is an original composition by my uncle, Pasquale Campisi, on Sicilian traditional lyrics collected by Corrado Avolio in the mid of the XIX Century.
"Facci di luna" ("Moon Face") is a simple but powerful piece on the true meaning of love, and my uncle composed it as a gift to my mother and father's wedding.

The introduction to the song is an original translation in Sicilian language to Poem #5 by Latin poet Catullus. I worked on the translation together with my mother, Luisa, long time ago.

This video is dedicated to my mother and father, and to my whole family.
But most of all, this is for you, Zio Pasquale. I will always love you, wherever you are.

From "Sicily Revisited", a show by Laura Campisi.
Recorded live at the Italian American Museum (Little Italy, New York) on June 1st, 2014.
Featuring Alberto Fidone on doublebass.
