Charles Wesley's Hymn, "Come, Let Us Join with One Accord," First OPC Perkasie - Video
PUBLISHED:  Feb 08, 2011
DESCRIPTION:
Charles Wesley is one of the foremost hymnwriters of the Christian faith, with well over 6,000 published hymns during the course of his lifetime. Unlike his famous brother John Wesley, who began the Methodist Church, Charles held true to the teachings of Calvinism and remained within the Anglican Church. Some of his more famous hymns include "And Can It Be," "O for a Thousand Tongues to Sing," and "Hark the Herald Angels Sing." The hymn in this video sings of the blessings of the Lord's Day, particularly its anticipation of the glories of heaven. Mr. Joseph Waggoner, Baritone Vocalist for First Presbyterian Church, and Rev. R Scott MacLaren sing with accompaniment on the piano by Mrs. Rebekah Winder Waggoner. The hymn was sung during the Sunday Worship Service of February 6, 2011 at First Presbyterian Church in Perkasie, PA (www.firstchurchopc.org). The hymn is from the original Trinity Hymnal of the Orthodox Presbyterian Church, #323.
