Charlie Bereal is a God-ordained, producer, musician, and singer/song writer extraordinaire who grew up in and around Los Angeles, California. His musical genres include: Christian, Alternative, Gospel, Soul, Pop, etc. What sets Charlie apart from all others is that he does not merely play an instrument, he is an instrument! As sweet is to sugar, and power is to wind and rain, so is music to Charlie Bereal; it is not something he does, rather music is who he is. Charlie represents the new generation of those called to minister to the world love, hope and healing by sharing his anointed music. Creating a new music genre described as “Honest Music”, Charlie’s songs speak directly to the heart with songs like, I Can Do Better and Eyes Wide Shut. Charlie is currently lead guitarist and vocalist for the Stellar awarding winning group, The Soul Seekers. His magic fingers have strummed guitar melodies on songs such as More Than a Woman (Aaliyah), One Minute Man (Missy Elliott), Call Me I'll Be Around (Cee-Lo), Love is Like Whoa (Mya) and Do What it Do (Jamie Foxx) to name a few. Charlie has accompanied almost every chart-topping act in the music industry. For so long Charlie paid his dues, working hard to perfect his craft, while helping to make others great. Like so many others who are accomplished, he understands that it takes pain and suffering, along with courage and risk-taking as preparation to be true to oneself. "It's cool, doing records and playing for everyone, but I need to let the world know who I really am through my own music," says Charlie. “I feel it’s my time and season to share this gift of music God gave me with everyone, from my point of view." With that, Charlie's goal is to fulfill his heartfelt conviction and share his gifts, making his mark on the world. His sound comes straight from the soul, his rhythms resonate with the streets, while his lyrics come straight down from heaven and up out of the earth. Charlie’s heart is a conduit that connects his audience to a higher-power, inspiring all who listen. His music centers on his guitar as he plays what he feels inside, and its delivery is simple but compelling. Charlie is from a long line of producers, writers, singers, and musicians. “As far as my music I love all types of music and it goes back to when I was a little kid watching cartoons and going to church that made it all come out. I love epic sounding music and it comes out of me a lot. I love soul and I love honesty in music and I think that’s what my music is. What I mean by honest is that somebody can sing and not be themselves, but when you try to be yourself, you are honest with your music. Many times I felt like people didn’t like my music, but somebody would always come to me and say they really liked it. Nobody can be me better than me, even though I may feel like I didn’t do my best. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not like I don’t have influences that are in me, but this is how God works. I’m singing, playing, and producing because it’s what I like. I’m not doing it for the money or crowd-pleasing, because that’s when it’s not honest.
Integrating all types of music genres with soulful songs, you will hear Charlie’s voice bring the Christian music world together in a new honest sound for the 21st century. Charlies says, “the music will be life-changing. It will teach people that we are not of this world, we are just in it. This world is only temporary; it’s our spirit that counts. Much that I’ve experienced will make people hear me out. I can talk to the atheist and they will not be able to ignore what I’m saying because it makes sense. I bring God with me everywhere I go.” For too long, God’s music has been segregated. God gave Charlie a vision that will cross traditional lines by desegregating Gospel and Christian music. “Sometimes when I listen to it I get emotional and I feel the power. My dream is to perform, but I’m glad I’m doing it with God the Creator of all things and my music now is on the winning team.” God told Abraham, “all families of the world would be blessed.” Charlie’s music is not exclusive, it is inclusive, because Charlie’s music is . . . HONEST!
“Not of This World” is a project that will take anybody to the NEXT level in their understanding of God, others and self.
