Johnny Cash and June Carter never did record Time's a wastin' and the following link from the movie walk the line is indicative of the reason why: http://www.spike.com/video/walk-line-... However, June did record Time's a wastin' with her husband at the time, "Carl Smith" and it was track 15 of Disc 2 the Carl Smith box set "Satisfaction Guaranteed" . JR and I have always felt, though, that we should do our best to respect and honor the true Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash. Even though we had no recording of them to listen to or study, we took into account their true love, the way they lived their lives, the way they always respected their former loves to the very end and we felt that since they have passed it might be ok to do a Johnny and June version of Time's a wastin'. With Johnny's deep voice and unforgettable emotion he can bring to this song what nobody else can and JR is able to do this I believe. With Junes growl and pure energy and love for Johnny I tried to bring the love June felt for Johnny and implement that into this song. Hopefully we did what might have been done if Johnny and June were not restricted by having loved others in a different order.
