I grew up on my daddy (Waylon's biggest fan ever to live) singing this tune to me and have loved it since the first time I heard it. He, of course, learned it from a Waylon album, whose cut is heartachingly pitiful. To hear that powerful, booming voice so helpless in his anxiety and love for his son...sheesh.
