Pascalito Neostalgia Trio ~ Nature Boy - Video
PUBLISHED:  Jan 08, 2014
DESCRIPTION:
I originally learned that song from my mother Liane Sab who used to sing it in the house where I grew up in Paris. She herself learned it from an old Nat King Cole record, one of her favorite crooners at the time. Over the years, I heard many great versions, Kurt Elling, Abbey Lincoln, Beat Kaestli and even David Bowie in the film soundtrack "Moulin Rouge". But I always go back to the memory of my mother's singing the universal message delivered in this beautiful tale: "the greatest thing you ever learn is just to love and be loved in return...". My Brazilian band mates and I tried to imagine a bossa nova arrangement for that song. This live performance features a beautifully inspired bass solo by Leco Reis.
