Pink Floyd - Fat Old Sun - Video
PUBLISHED:  Sep 13, 2012
DESCRIPTION:
Here is the second track of a Pink Floyd live recording entitled From Oblivion. The song is Fat Old Sun from the Atom Heat Mother album. This particular recording is taken from a number of concerts and performances. The first 6 tracks were taken from an October 17, 1971 concert at the Community Concourse in San Diego, California. The 5 remaining tracks were all recorded before that date, meaning this is well before their massive success with Dark Side of the Moon. You will not find any of their big hits here. What you will find, however, is a series of long jam sessions. This is my favorite track from the first disc, and it is my favorite version of Fat Old Son

Line up:
Roger Waters - Vocals and bass
David Gilmour - Vocals and guitar
Richard Wright - Keyboards
Nick Mason - Drums

Lyrics:

When that fat old sun in the sky is falling,
Summer evening birds are calling.
Summer's thunder time of year,
The sound of music in my ears.
Distant bells,
New mown grass smells so sweet.
By the river holding hands,
Roll me up and lay me down.
And if you sit,
Don't make a sound.
Pick your feet up off the ground.
And if you hear as the warm night falls
The silver sound from a time so strange,
Sing to me, sing to me.
When that fat old sun in the sky is falling,
Summer evening birds are calling.
Children's laughter in my ears,
The last sunlight disappears.
