Compressor junkies are an exclusive breed, always on the prowl for the latest and greatest. The Dave's Comp from Baroni Lab in Italy may have slipped under the radar for many but for those in the know it's somewhat of a treasure, and trying one will quickly let you know why. It adds glorious sustain without being 'bloomy' and a handful of tonal fairy dust to finish it off. It works equally as well with clean sounds as it does with distortion and stacking it with a Muff-type pedal will yield soaring lead tones, as I hope I've demonstrated here. I'm not sure what type of circuit it is and frankly I'm not fussed because it just rocks. Try one, you won't be sorry.
