November 25 1992, Originally written by Lawrence Kasdan in the 1970s as a vehicle for Steve McQueen and Diana Ross, "The Bodyguard," opened nation-wide featuring Whitney Houston and Kevin Costner. The film, which was Whitney Houston's acting debut, became the second-highest-grossing film worldwide in 1992 and the soundtrack became the best-selling soundtrack of all time, selling more than 42 million copies worldwide.

November 26 1955, Johnny Cash makes his US country chart debut when 'Cry! Cry! Cry!' goes to number 14. The song sold over 100,000 copies alone in the southern states and it's success led to a featured spot on the Louisiana Hayride Tour and kicked off Johnny's career.

November 27 1942, Born on this day, the legendary ground breaking musician and guitar icon, Jimi Hendrix.
