June 2 2001,'Lady Marmalade,' originally a hit for LaBelle in 1975, began a five week stay at No.1 on the US singles chart with Christina Aguilera, Lil' Kim, Mya and Pink rockin' this version from the Baz Luhrmann film "Moulin Rouge."

June 3 1906, Born on this day, dancer, singer, and actress Josephine Baker also known as the "Black Pearl," the "Bronze Venus" and the "Creole Goddess."

June 4 1984, Bruce Springsteen's 'Born In The USA' was released, which became the best-selling album of 1985 in the United States (and also Springsteen's most successful album ever). The album produced a record-tying string of seven Top 10 singles (tied with Michael Jackson's Thriller and Janet Jackson's Rhythm Nation 1814).

June 5 1961, Roy Orbison went to No.1 on the US chart with 'Running Scared.' The B-side 'Love Hurts' also picked up significant airplay, making Orbison's recording the first version to be a hit.

June 6 1960, Born on this day, Steve Vai. Steve has sold over 15 million records almost as fast as he plays the guitar!

June 7 1970, Elvis Presley records on this day in RCA Studio B, Nashville TN, "When I'm Over You," "I Really Don't Want To Know," "Faded Love," "Tomorrow Never Comes," "The Next Step Is Love," "Make The World Go Away," "Funny How Time Slips Away," "I Washed My Hands In Muddy Water," and "Love Letters" That's one hard workin' King!

June 8 1974, Dolly Parton was at No.1 on the US country chart with 'I Will Always Love You'. She refused Colonel Tom Parker's proposal to have Elvis Presley record the song if she would sign over half of the publishing rights. Eighteen years later in 1992 'I Will Always Love You' became a worldwide No.1 hit for Whitney Houston.
