May 12 1960 - Frank Sinatra and Elvis Presley appeared on the same TV special and performed the other's hit. Elvis sang "Witchcraft" and Sinatra sang "Love Me Tender."

May 13 1955, Tony Bennett was at No. 1 on the UK singles chart with "Stranger In Paradise." The song was a hit in the 1953 Broadway show "Kismet" and based on a theme from Borodin's 1888 opera "Prince Igor."

May 14 2005, Bruce Springsteen hits No. 1 on the US album chart with "Devils and Dust," his 7th No. 1 album.

May 15 1918, Born on this day, country music great, Eddy Arnold. Eddy was an innovator of the Nashville sound and charted 147 songs on the Billboard Country Music charts.

May 16 2009, Bob Dylan goes to No. 1 on the US album chart with "Together Through Life," his 33rd studio album. The album is the only album by Dylan to top the US and UK charts at the same time and received two Grammy Award nominations.

May 17 1942, Born on this day, singer-songwriter and film composer, Taj Mahal. Taj plays the guitar, piano, banjo and harmonica (among many other instruments)

May 18 1961, Floyd Cramer, the Nashville pianist who played on many Elvis Presley hits was at No. 1 on the UK singles chart with "On The Rebound," his only UK No. 1. .
