About Ax Genrich:

Ax Genrich is a German guitarist. He started the band "Agitation Free", in 1970 he played the guitar for three months . There he developed his style of improvisation.

Mid- 1970, he joined the group Guru Guru. Along with his bandmates, Uli Trepte and Mani Neumeier, Genrich celebrated the beginning of the 1970s some success. Guru Guru is still regarded as one of the outstanding representatives of the so-called "Krautrock". 1974 left Genrich Guru Guru. 1974 was also his first solo LP "Highdelberg" with known Krautrockers .

Beginning of the 1980s he founded the Trio RIF, punk rock music with German lyrics and released the cassette "reality, nothing bla bla". In the 1990s, he released two solo albums, "Psychedelic Guitar" and "Wave Cut". In 2003 he founded with Mani Neumeier and Dave Schmidt "Psychedelic Monsterjam" . From the time there are two live CDs at Sunhair .

In the years 2007 and 2008 he played sporadically during performances of "Zone Six" with, among others, the "Psychedelic Network Festival 2007" and the "Roadburn Festival 2008" . In February 2009, a CD with pieces of various live performances from the 1990s, Ax Genrich " spotaneous Combustion" and the compilation " Axymoron " appeared. In September 2009, he plays with Mani Neumeier, Guy Segers and Mario Engelter the CD "Psy Valley Hill" , which in 2010 appears under "Gurumaniax".

He is currently on the road with his band Ax Genrich & Band and as a soloist. New CDs are planned. Ax Genrich & Band in Finkenbach "A Trip To Paradise" and Ax Genrich "Fretboard Jungle"

Ax Genrich ist ein deutscher Gitarrist. Er begann bei der Band Agitation Free, bei der er 1970 drei Monate lang die Gitarre spielte. Dort entwickelte er seinen Stil der Improvisation.

Mitte 1970 stieg er bei der Gruppe Guru Guru ein. Zusammen mit seinen Bandkollegen, Uli Trepte und Mani Neumeier, feierte Genrich Anfang der 1970er- Jahre einige Erfolge. Guru Guru gilt auch heute noch als einer der herausragenden Vertreter des sogenannten „Krautrock". 1974 verließ Genrich Guru Guru. 1974 entstand auch seine erste Solo LP "Highdelberg" mit bekannten Krautrockern.

Anfang der 1980er-Jahre gründete er das Trio RIF, punkige Rockmusik mit deutschen Texten und veröffentlichte die Kassette "Realität, nix bla bla" In den 1990er-Jahren veröffentlichte er zwei Soloalben "Psychedelic Guitar" und "Wave Cut" 2003 gründete er mit Mani Neumeier und Dave Schmidt "Psychedelic Monsterjam". Aus der Zeit gibt es zwei Live CDs bei Sunhair.

In den Jahren 2007 und 2008 spielt er vereinzelt bei Auftritten von "Zone Six" mit, unter anderem bei dem "Psychedelic Network Festival 2007" und dem "Roadburn Festival 2008". Im Februar 2009 erschien eine CD mit Stücken von verschiedenen Liveauftritten aus den 1990-er-Jahren, Ax Genrich "Spotaneous Combustion" und die Compilation "Axymoron". Im September 2009 spielt er mit Mani Neumeier, Guy Segers und Mario Engelter die CD "Psy Valley Hill" ein, welche 2010 unter "Gurumaniax" erscheint.
