Even with a broken foot in tow, frontman Kasey Dorr gave it his all, which is more than many performers boasting two healthy feet can say about themselves. Rounding off the band's lineup is guitarist Adam Gregoire, drum monster Kevin Carley, and Skinless bassist Joe Keyser, who deliver a headbang-worthy set of swampcore rippers from the band's three full-lengths.

But what really shines is the band's latest material from their self-released 3rd record Join Us, a collection of new music that reeks of New Orleans in all its guts and glory. Well, Upstate New York and New Orleans, which is to say if slam mated with sludge. Gunther Weezul can therefore best be categorized as slam sludge.
