DESCRIPTION:
This is a Premier XPK birch/eucalyptus drum set I picked up in the mid-1990s. It's made in England and has a beautiful amber lacquer finish. Sizes are 12X9 mounted tom, 16X16 floor tom, 22X16 bass drum, and matching 14X5 snare drum. Toms have Evans G2 coated heads on the batter side and Genera on the resonant side. Bass drum has an Aquarian Performance II on the batter side and the original Premier batter head. Snare has an Aquarian Power Dot and an Evans Hazy snare reso head. I recorded this using the Recorderman technique for overheads and a D112 on the kick drum. I can't remember exactly what I did in terms of processing, but I think I put a little bit of compression and a little reverb on the track.
