Skyline Sessions: Dorit Chrysler - "Sustain Me" - Video
PUBLISHED:  Jun 02, 2015
DESCRIPTION:
Austrian multi-instrumentalist Dorit Chrysler is known primarily as an internationally-acclaimed thereminist. Chrysler visited Houston in May to participate in the event "Theremin Fever" at 14 Pews. The event included Theremin workshops for both kids and adults, and culminated in a concert by Chrysler on Saturday, May 30.

The Theremin was invented in 1920 by Leon Theremin, a Russian physicist. It's played by moving the hands in proximity of two antennas--one controls pitch; the other controls volume. It's considered by many to be the first electronic instrument invented.

Chrysler dropped by Houston Public Media's Geary Studio to record her original song "Sustain Me" and the Will Bates composition "The Death of LRH," which Chrysler performed on the soundtrack to the HBO documentary "Going Clear: Scientology and the Prison of Belief."
