Funky remix of DC Fontana's Hammond organ instrumental 'La Contessa' by the highly acclaimed Lack Of Afro.
The multi-instrumentalist, producer and DJ aka Adam Gibbons slows the pace from the frenetic amphetamine-fast original and twists the track into a driving car-chase affair.
Neil Jones' rhythm guitar takes centre stage with some of the original horn parts but otherwise LOA lends a whole new blaxploitation type of vibe.
It was the latest in a line of evolutionary steps for the tune - Booker. T. style! - which began life as "The Contessa" and was released as DC Fontana's debut vinyl single in 2009.
That record - paired with Donald Skinner and Paul Kennedy's 'Snake Charmer' - won the group fans across the globe with its off-kilter energy.
A slightly edited version called 'La Contessa' was mixed with French studio engineer Ashley Martel (who was involved throughout the recording of the DCs' debut album in Liverpool, England) adding some words in his native tongue.
That version was featured on the group's 'Meshkalina EP' in 2011 along with this remix.
Later that year 'La Contessa (de Paris)' with futher edits, became the title track of the band's limited edition album sung mostly in French and Italian which also appeared on both DCTone Records and Teen Beat (Italy).
Gibbons added extra instrumentation and production and all the Contessas in the series were produced by Donald Ross Skinner.
The video was filmed by Matt Page of Area 51 in Tamworth Castle Grounds and the town's Ankerside shopping centre.
