DESCRIPTION:
I have created this channel to share the music of Clem Alford & John Jhalib Millar - Clem is an accomplished Sitar player whilst Jhalib an accomplished Tabla player and while both have maintained their practice & performance in their respective Indian classical tradition both have been pioneers in (indian) fusion music from Indo-jazz to Indi-pop - Clem & Jhalib have done many projects, sessions & performing since the 60's & 70's, too long to list here but both at the cutting edge when digital came into music on the mainstream in the early 80's performing on the classic Monsoon ( band) hit "Ever so lonely" with Sheila Chandra singing & they went on to form the band Akasa with Sophiya Haque as vocalist with the release of "One night in my Life " & "Kamasutra" in the late 80's early 90's. In the mid 90's they decided to compose mainly instrumental fusion music based on Clem's knowledge of Indian classical raga whilst incorporating modern tools (digital) with live instruments.- bhilaj
