Max Schultz started to play guitar at the age of 10 after visiting a Jimi Hendrix concert.One year later he got his first electric guitar and soon he started his first band (Rena Vätskor) with some friends from school. They played at small clubs and did a film for SVT-79.



1980 he played with a reggaeband called Jah-maica (lead by singer Ron Simmons) and he met bassplayer Christian Paulin and joined his group Mynta.They worked together 1982-89 and did three records (Havanna Club -83,Short Conversation -85,Indian Time -88).They also did several festivals (Montreax, Singapore, Sthlm, Bombay, New Dehli, Kuba, Nicaragua) 1988 he toured with Herbie Hancock witch he later did a cd with (Sixtus 20001).He also played with Håkan Broström" In and Out" (Dark Light -91) and "Jazz in Sweden awardwinner-90" Encore.



1991-92 he recorded with winners Stina Nordenstam (Memories of a colour) and Jonas Knutsson. 1993 he won the price himself and did a cd together with Joakim Milder,Christian Spering,Magnus Gran (a band he still plays with).Max and singer Anna Nederdal makes a cd together(-95 which introduces him as a songwriter)and the year after he record "Blues Up" with "Hammondhero" Pierre Svärd.-95 he starts to work with singer Tommy Körberg and they have been doin' since.Other artists and musicians he played with are: Rebecka Törnqvist ("a night like this,Good Thing,Kaza Session"),Marie Fredriksson("En tid som var"-96),Svante Thuresson,Nils Landgren,Victoria Tolstoy,Ola Magnell,Esbjörn Svensson,David Wilczewski (he's gonna release a cd soon " room in the clouds"),Bob Moses and many moore.Max has also released a new cd with his quartet entitled "Sudden Eternity" (Apart records) in the summer -06 with new material.
