Billy Hughes was from Tennessee and recorded sides in the 40s and 50s under a variety of names (like Buckaroo Billy) and with a varying cast of characters, sometimes named, sometimes not. It's not Western Swing per se, but you can definitely hear the influence of the jump sound that had changed Country music starting in the late 30s, particularly in the rhythm, which is approaching a kind of blue beat with the emphasis on the 2 and 4.
