Gem Allen is a multi creative talent cutting across TV & Live Presenting, Acting and as an Established Artist.
Based in the UK, Gem is a talented TV Presenter and Singer/Songwriter. Credits include a UK arena tour supporting X Factor winner Shayne Ward, worldwide performances & live TV appearances on BBC, ITV & Sky to name a few.
Gem trained at the Sylvia Young Theatre School alongside classmates Amy Winehouse and Billie Piper and is the Founder of London's hottest music event, LiVE GEMS as well as new performance school PopGems Academy.
Aged just 15 Gem began her teaching career assisting Dance, Drama and Singing classes at Sylvia Young's Summer Schools and Saturday School. This led to covering classes and gaining experience from an early age. After 3 years Gem had to let the job she loved so much go to pursue a music project but started her own classes locally at Amida Health Club and then David Lloyd which she juggled inbetween her other commitments.
In 2006 Gem joined TK Spin Dance troupe performing as guests at many events including Dance Championships, Germany and representing UK at Culture Shock's Dance Event in San Diego. She also went to LA to experience classes the likes of Britney Spears take at Millenium & Debbie Reynolds Studios.
Gem was also a member of 3 piece UK Girlband Stonefoxx for over three years. Stonefoxx spent productive time in Norway working with Dsign Music on a number of pop hits, as well as an exciting new songwriting/production duo to create, "Cruel Goodbye", meshing 80's Bananarama samples with modern Timbaland-styled beats. In addition Stonefoxx co-wrote songs with Richard "Biff" Stannard, Shaznay Lewis, Stuart Crichton, Georgie Dennis and Remee. Stonefoxx performed over 100 live gigs, picked up a BT Award for best new talent and were chosen to launch console game, "Battle of the Bands" for Nintendo Wii. After performing to 100,000 people across twelve nights on a national arena tour, featured by BBC News as one to watch, selected twice as Song of the Day by Popjustice, and raved about by Yahoo! music, Songpeople.com and pretty much every pop blog worth reading. Stonefoxx came to an end.
Upon leaving Stonefoxx in 2009, Gem decided to add another string to her bow landing a job as a TV Presenter on a SKY Roulette Channel where she worked for over a year.
At the end of 2009 Gem decided to mix her performing talents & create a hot new Showcase Event, LiVE GEMS. At each event, she hosts, sings & invites the hottest acts about town to perform alongside her at exclusive venues such as The Pigalle Club, Chinawhite & Whisky Mist. In July 2011 Live Gems were honoured to perform a Guest Slot as part of Save The Children's 'BIGGEST BAND' Event at a place Gem had dreamt of performing at since she was a child. WEMBLEY ARENA!!
2011 also saw the birth of another dream: PopGems Academy, 'The UK's newest training academy tailored specifically towards training you to become a pop star, recording artist and actor just like your idols!' Having already experienced so much herself over the years, Gem thought how amazing it would be to have all the training opportunities in one place, including classes by professionals currently working in the industry, and offer that opportunity to others. To keep all her various projects under one umbrella she registered her own company 'Gempire Ltd' and PopGems Acadmey was launched in London & Beckenham, Kent!
Gem is currently choreographing for the 2011 Xmas Run of NEWS REVUE alongside Director Adam Morely! She is honoured and excited to be part of the News Review team that holds the Guinness World Record for the longest-running Live Comedy Show!. 'So technically I can now add that im part of a World Record to the things I've achieved in 2011?! Im so chuffed!' she laughs.
Throughout her life she has worked extremely hard to climb her way up the steps of a long and in many occasions unstable ladder to fulfil her dreams. She loves performing, singing live and teaching her students! 'It's what I LOVE and LIVE to do. You just can't beat the buzz of performing and seeing others progress!!'
