DESCRIPTION:
Soul 4 the Season is a holiday show, now in it's 3rd year ( as of 2016) It is the brain child of Paula Harris, who wanted a Christmas Show that eliminated the cheesy factors you sometimes find with seasonal shows. The format is strongly influenced by the genres of Soul, Jazz, and Blues and features not only some of California's heaviest hitters vocally- but also in the band. It features arrangements from Etta James, Lou Rawls, Marcus Miller, Luther Vandross, Donnie Hathaway, Ledisi, Anita Baker, and more!

The 2016 Series is slated to feature Paula a San Francisco based Blues and Jazz Singer, as well as the iconic voice of ColdBlood- Lydia Pense, the powerful vocals of Sacramento's Dana Moret who has sung with Big Brother & the Holding Co, Stone Ground, Sons of Champlain and more, and new to the cast this year is Fred Ross. Fred performed for 14 years at the Starlight Room and has sung with Aretha Franklin, Pee Wee Ellis, Fred Wesley, Chaka Kahn, Frankie Beverly and more.

Featured in the Band in this video ( From the 2015 series) are Derrick Martin( AKA "D'Mar") 17 year veteran drummer with Little RIchard, Michael Shiono- former musical director for Jennifer Holliday on Bass, Tammy Hall who has worked with Kim Nalley, Melba Moore, Miki Howard, Ernestine Anderson and more on Keys, Steve Dunne of Cold Blood on Guitar and Tom Politzer of Tower of Power on Sax.
