Shenekia "Neicy V." Walker-Vann. Neicy was born August 9th, 1982 in Panama City, Florida. The Florida born Texas bred NeoSoul R&B artist always had a passion for utilizing her soulful voice on a stage for the rest of the world to experience. That stage has been one of both charity and enchantment. After graduating Dallas Nursing Institute, Neicy wrestled with the concept of incorporating her nursing career with her musical passion. After fusing the two, Neicy developed the non-profit organization "The Helping Advocates". Neicy uses her skilled talents to soothe those in pain and distress. Her angelic melodies of soul and inspiration have been deemed as healing mechanisms. She has inspired and encouraged others within the music world to use their talents for the uplifting of others. Hint the name given to her from local radio station K104 during their annual "Your Talent" competition in 2012 the "Singing Nurse". The sensation from her singing coupled with her chronicle of healing the ailing earned her the title. "The more you give, the more you receive" is a familial chant that fuels the drive to sing for a reason. When asked what motivates her to sing, she stated life is her motivation. Her musical inspirations are Mary J. Blige, Jasmine Sullivan, Jill Scott, Prince, Anita Baker, and The Isley Brothers. Neicy recently made runner-up at the House of Blues, Dallas' "Your Name in Lights" competition. She is now performing at the House of Blues as the opening act for scheduled performers once a month.
