Tomás Ford - Vice - Video
PUBLISHED:  Feb 12, 2014
DESCRIPTION:
My electro-folk anti-drinking drinking ballad. A monster bassline fights to keep me off the plonk, while syrupy strings call my name on the wind.

"Vice" is on your favorite streaming platform and music stores now. Hear the album version on "An Audience With Tomás Ford," and this single mix on the retrospective "The Essential Tomás Ford".

I wrote this song on guitar - the progression was this little melancholy loop of chords that I figured out and loved. I would pull out my dodgy acoustic guitar and pluck this away on it for a couple of years whenever I felt a bit yuk.

The lyric ended up spewing out after a series of heavy drinking weekends. I had a bunch of different friend groups, who would all drink about once or twice a week, but between that and going to pubs for shows, things were getting a bit out of control.

We shot the video at the Rosemount Hotel with some of my dear mates at the time - it was built around a game I used to play with my mates called "Shot Of Death," where we would make ridiculous drinks out of whatever we could find in the cupboard. The object was to make the drinker vomit. Lots of fun.
