What's New by Paul, Chris and Irene Griffin - Video

DESCRIPTION:
This is unfortunately the last video that I have of Irene, my dad and I performing together. It's one of my favorite songs: "What's New" This great song was written by a long time, Griffin family friend, Bob Haggart. When he originally wrote the song, it was as an instrumental featuring another life long friend of ours, trumpeter Billy Butterfield. It was titled, "I'm Free." Linda Ronstadt had a chart topping hit with Nelson Riddle, as did Frank Sinatra on his best album of all, "Only The Lonely." This video was filmed at a Jazz Picnic on Lake Winona in Pennsylvania. Also seen here: Chris Griffin (Music Hall of Fame) and Lou Carter on Piano, and Warren Vache Sr. on Bass. Irene & I selected this song as our tribute to all of the great musicians who have been a major influence on our lives. Their music has all of the required ingredients: Melody; Harmony; Rhythm, Timbre. Let's hope that the future will be filled with Cultural Harmony, Rhythm of Life, Timbre of a Global Consciousness, and a Melody that Lingers On. Oh yeah...and in the interests of global warming...more than enough sex to keep us off the streets. (It's getting messy out there!) http://griffin-house.com/together
