It reminds me that my Christian walk isn't just about learning, not just about saying the right things, not even about being "perfect," though these are all goals. Instead, it's about going the way of God and rejecting the way of the evil one. Knowing God more, seeking Him, being transformed daily into His likeness, it all happens when we walk with Him and go His way. If you're like me, you may be very willful, maybe self-sufficient, regrettably self-reliant, but I believe that God knows how to bless me better than I know how to bless myself. He knows how to train me better than I know how to train myself. He knows the ways of life better than I know them. So, I must daily reject my own way, the way of others and the way of the world and choose God's way. I'm just so thankful that Jesus' sacrifice on the cross has bridged the gap that once separated us from God, and it allows us to walk with Him daily.
