DESCRIPTION:
Improvised drum set solo by Marc De Douvan in Afro-Cuban style (with left foot rumba clave and right foot tumbao, right hand cascara, left hand guaguanco, songo, mambo, etc. in independence and a lot of time with amerindian swing and French rudiments) recorded and filmed the October 19, 2016 in Saint-Barthélemy d'Anjou.
A lot of phrases played here are written in scores in the advanced level drumset method of Marc De Douvan "Return To The Sources" (2008).

Former member of the Brazilian percussions band Aquarela de Paris, Marc De Douvan is the author of two drumset methods in English and French for all levels and all styles, already heartily recommended by Batteur Magazine, "Percussions" magazine, Drumset mag, Horacio "El Negro" Hernandez, Daniel Humair, Jean Philippe Fanfant, Martial Solal, Thierry Arpino, Marc Cerrone, Bertrand Renaudin and Jean-Claude Paolini ("First Steps" for beginner and intermediate level and "Return To The Sources", for advanced level, common publication in june 2008, in French and 2012 in English).

The method "First Steps" was awarded in 2011 "Drum book of The Year in French", by 10 independent drum teachers organized by the specialized online bookstore Drumbooksstore.com, the year of creation of this prize unique of its kind in France.
