DESCRIPTION:
Upon a lot of coaxing to sing in English - a language that she has never sung in, critically acclaimed Indo-Canadian World Music artist Vandana Vishwas decided to team up with famed bassist and producer George Koller at Number 9 Audio Group in Toronto to recreate the magic of Lennon-McCartney classic 'Across The Universe'.... but with an Indian twist! Vishwas Thoke joined them on acoustic guitar...

Since the song is loosely based on ancient Indian Raag 'Shankara', It made perfect sense for Vandana to give it an Indian flavour, combining it with alaaps and the sound of Tanpura!

George Koller produced this classic and also chipped in with his inimitable upright bass!

Bernie Cisternas of Number 9 Audio Group did what he does the best - recording and mixing. Since this was a one take Jam session, his editing skills remained unchallenged!

Get ready to brave some mild shocks as you rediscover this classic in a slower pace, with Indian drone in the backdrop of the Diva's mesmerizingly soaring vocals!

You will begin to feel the Indian roots of this melody come out in no time!
