NOTE FROM KR:
I'd love to know, HAVE YOU EVER THOUGHT ABOUT MARRYING YOURSELF?
I added the song "I Married Myself" from my second solo CD "MY LITTLE FLAME" here on MySpace. I wrote this song before Sue Sylvester Married herself on Glee. even before Carrie Bradhaw said she was going to marry herself to register for the gift of Manolo Blahniks on Sex & The City!
-Can you relate to the idea in this song?
-Have you actually had the ceremony?
-Would this song encourage you to marry yourself, and would you play it when you walk down the aisle?
-Please leave me a message here at MySpace about "I Married Myself", and tell your friends!

KATHRYN ROSE BIO:
Affectionately known as KR to fans and friends, Kathryn Rose is a singer/songwriter, recording artist, session vocalist, published writer and mother of two. Now available: Advance copies & downloads of her newest release: "Something I Can Use", a CD compilation of her body of work, with some new, live, and revisited tracks.
Kathryn songs have been covered by other artists such as Sarah Slean and Melanie Doane (both coincidentally in two separate editions of the Art of Time Ensemble's celebrated Songbook series). Her songs and vocals have also been placed in many TV shows and films including Bridal Fever, The Overlookers, Los Locos, When Night is Falling, The Circle Game, CBC/Passionate Eye's Daughters Of Afghanistan, Degrassi: The Next Generation, Cold Squad, Powerplay, Ready Or Not, Relic Hunter, and more.
Kathryn is a feature artist in an ongoing touring symphony pop concert series, singing and selling her albums to orchestra audiences across North America. She sits on the Board of CIRAA (Canadian Independent Recording Artists' Association), representing the interests of emerging indie artists. For fun, on very special occasions Kathryn has a trio with friends and fellow artists Melanie Doane and Emilie-Claire Barlow. Together they have performed at some very prestigious events, including Luminato's Neil Young: Live at Massey Hall tribute, June 10, 2009 at Massey Hall. On her own, Kathryn brought the house down performing her songs "Yellowknife" and "One Person" as the special musical guest at the 2008 ACTRA Awards at the Carlu in Toronto.
Kathryn is well known among her peers as one of Canada's top go-to singers with a mile-long list * of guest album and live appearances with other artists, including Barenaked Ladies, Kevin Breit, Oliver Schroer, JD Fortune, RyanDan, Alan Frew, Joel Kroeker, Paul Brandt, Esthero, illScarlett, PattiLaBelle, Kyp Harness, Lennie Gallant and many more.

Kathryn sang live backups on Canadian Idol Season 6 on CTV (2008) for the competitors and for special guests Tom Jones and Anne Murray. Kathryn spent all of 2004 as Sarah McLachlan's backup singer for the Afterglow world tour throughout Australia, New Zealand, North America and Europe, appearing on the Afterglow Live concert DVD and CD, the Grammys, the Junos, the Tonight Show w/Jay Leno, Live w/Regis & Kelly, Last Call w/Carson Daly, Late Night w/Conan O'Brien and Good Morning America. The entertaining and popular website blog that Kathryn began on that tour is still going today at at www.kathrynrose.com.
After two albums in the early 90’s with previous band Wind May Do Damage, her solo debut Every Lurid Detail (1997) was recorded in Vancouver with most of Sarah McLachlan’s band and other west coast luminaries. In 2001 she put out My Little Flame, which was re-released in 2003 as an enhanced CD featuring Ron Sexsmith on the closing track and was nominated for Pop Album of the Year at the 2003 Canadian Indie Awards. She appeared on the cover of NOW Magazine in January 2002, and was "Miss November" in their 2003 annual calendar. NOW also playfully named her "Best Jingle Singer" in their "Best Of 2002" poll, adding the category especially in her honour, to which she responded by writing the song "Jingle Queen" which may or may not ever get an album release but might be hidden somewhere at her website if you look hard enough. From 2005’s Kathryn Rose, the song "One Person" made the International Songwriting Competition semi-finals and the video for that song charted for 23 straight weeks on Bravo Television’s Top 30 chart.
The cerebral, sexy/sad/funny brilliance of her own artful brand of cinematic pop might be something of a state secret beyond the ranks of her select yet loyal fans, but Kathryn doesn’t give up easy, as reflected in the motto of her indie label, Footlodgedindoor Music: “You can’t kick me out, my foot’s lodged in the door”.
Kathryn's supple voice is an emotive, elastic instrument. As a songwriter she is considered a keen social diarist with a reputation for penning darkly atmospheric songs, her wicked sense of humour always at the ready.
“The dark stuff is spooky, the hopeful stuff inspiring and that voice is always worth hearing." (Eye Weekly)
