震災後に来日したカナダ人ミュージシャンのジョージ・コーラーさんは、音楽で支援の気持ちを伝えたいとカナダのアーティストたちに呼びかけてアルバム「MapleLeaf RisingSun（メイプルリーフ・ライジングサン）」を製作しました。CDの売り上げは全額トロントの日系文化会館に寄付され、東北の被災地の子どもたちの教育や奨学金のために使われます。2012年、アルバムを完成させた５月に再来日したコーラーさんは、東北の仮設住宅などを訪れ地域の人たちと交流しました。

We would like to extend our sincerest condolences and deepest sympathy to the victims of the Tohoku earthquake of March 11, 2011 and their families. We would like to express our gratitude for the warm messages of encouragement and support that we have been receiving from Canadian musicians and artists.
