Alabama Music Office.com goes to the Black Box Theatre in Columbiana, Alabama to attend a solo performance by Damon Johnson presented by Shelby County Arts Council.

Damon Johnson is an American guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter from Birmingham, Alabama, best known for his work as frontman for Brother Cane, guitarist for Alice Cooper, and full member of legendary Irish rock band, Thin Lizzy. Johnson's list of other writing and recording credits include John Waite, Stevie Nicks, Carlos Santana, Sammy Hagar, Queensryche, Faith Hill, Skid Row, and The Temptations. He has also been a member of several high profile side projects, including Whiskey Falls and Slave To The System. Recently, Johnson is a member of Thin Lizzy off-shoot band, Black Star Riders, who released their critically acclaimed debut album 2013. The follow-up is coming in February 2015.

Johnson first came on the national music scene as the frontman, guitarist and principal songwriter for Brother Cane. The band released three albums on Virgin Records (selling a cumulative of over 500,000 records) that would yield three #1 singles on rock radio ("Got No Shame," "And Fools Shine On," and "I Lie in the Bed I Make"). Brother Cane toured extensively as a headliner and also as a supporting act on tours by Van Halen, Aerosmith, Robert Plant, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and Candlebox. The group disbanded in 1999.

Johnson has also issued two solo acoustic albums: "Dust" (2000) and "Release" (2010), featuring his daughter, Sarah, on two songs and a cover of Alice Cooper's "Generation Landslide" (featuring Cooper himself on harmonica and some vocals).
