About.com Live Jazz Review: The band's interpretation of Jan Hammer's "Oh Yeah" reminded the audience of the one time Jeff Beck contemporary's glory years, before he dissolved into a pool of Miami Vice pastel: it was a taught and tempestuous dose of rock and roll, reminiscent of the Brecker Brothers' heavy electricity, featuring some awesome horn and guitars lines. Final Word: Steve Gadd is the best drummer of our generation, hands down. His ability to sit in the pocket is unparalleled, a marvel of how to play strong and loose at the same time. Larry Goldings' is as tasteful and diverse a keyboard man as anyone playing today and bassist Jimmy Johnson knew exactly when to stay in the background and exactly when to move into the spotlight. Both Walt Fowler and Michael Landau have a humble confidence that make them at once dynamic soloists while remaining admirable foils.With five players of this magnitude (Gadditude!) onstage at the same time, the final word is "awesome."
