DESCRIPTION:
VOLUME 2, EPISODE 2; Tivon Pennicott and Troy Roberts blaze through a saxophone duet of the jazz standard "Bernie's Tune," written by Bernie Miller, Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller. It was popularized by Gerry Mulligan, whose recording featured an all-star line up that included trumpeter and vocalist Chet Baker. Pennicott, a 2014 Grammy-winning saxophonist who also placed second in the 2013 Thelonious Monk Competition. Roberts, an Australian, whose made a name on the New York City and was a Monk Competition semi-finalist in 2008 and has received a Grammy nomination medal.
