We went to visit Rich Knox of Danko Jones in the studio and checked out the new Yamaha DT50S & DT50K Triggers, our latest solid and stylish kick, tom- and snare drum pick-ups for hybrid drumming.

The DT50K for kick drums is equipped with a Single Piezo, the DT50S features a Dual Piezo and is a great choice for snare drums and toms, giving you additional sounds on rim and head of your drum. The extremely sensitive sensors register every hit with outstanding precision even when the drums are played softly.

Once the solid drum triggers are attached to the hoop, they generate a trigger signal mirroring each stroke. A connected drum trigger module creates any desired drum sound, or even other tones, based on this signal. This way, it is possible to add electronic sounds or samples to your acoustic drum kit. In addition, everything played on the drums can be recorded via MIDI or processed with a sequencer software.
