If ELVIS COSTELLO shagged THE CARS and XTC and made a musical mutant child, that child would be TRIGGERS. If you hate HONEST, RIFF LADEN, HOOK INFUSED songs that hypnotize you with their MELODIES then, by all means, return to the pretentious moaning of some band of sods and do not listen to TRIGGERS.
TRIGGERS were formed on the no nonsense streets of PITTSBURGH in 2005. They quickly dominated the Pittsburgh power pop scene and after releasing their enthusiastically received EP "Elude The Suits" they teamed up with acclaimed producer/engineer John Hiler (Smashing Pumpkins, Stephen Stills, The Frogs, Danzig) to begin recording their full length album "SMOKE SHOW" for Anomaly Records.
The finished result did not fail to impress. "Smoke Show is a pure blast of smart vintage power pop." "Triggers expel an effortless vocal-majority garage punk-rock tone…" "Triggers play music that just drips indie-pop…"
The response to SMOKE SHOW has had TRIGGERS touring from coast to coast, including recent high profile shows at The Viper Room in Los Angeles and The Hard Rock Cafe in Las Vegas. Triggers have also had the pleasure of sharing the stage with such notable acts as Rooney, Little Joy, French Kicks, White Rabbits, and The Walkmen to name a few.
The winter of 2010 saw Triggers holing up in Kingsize Soundlab in Los Angeles with producer extraordinaire Dave Trumfio (Built to Spill, OK Go, Grandaddy, The Rentals) to work on the long awaited follow to "Smoke Show". 14 tracks were recorded, and the still untitled record is now in the mixing stages, being prepared for a springtime release in 2011.
Stay tuned.
