How to Properly Connect A Wire Harness | Car Audio 101 - Video
PUBLISHED:  Feb 16, 2013
DESCRIPTION:
Learn about the different methods of connecting the wires on your wiring harness. The three ways we demonstrate in this video are the following:
1) Butt Connectors
2) Crimp Caps
3) Solder & Heat Shrink

Overall, we recommend soldering all wires because it created a secure, solid connection that isn't going to short out over time. However, the down side to soldering is that it takes a lot longer.
Butt connectors are the most popular and widely used connector because of how easy they are to install. Crimp caps are fast and secure, but they are bulky and take up a lot of space.
