Track 7, from 1986 album Stop Pretending, Karen Blankfeld-Drums, Paula Pierce-Lead Guitar and Vocals, Melanie Vammen-Keyboards/Organ, Kim Shattuck-Bass. Bio By She Rox All Female Bands:The Pandoras, began in 1983, in Hollywood, California as a 1960's influenced garage rock band, and gained a solid fan base with their edgy primitive garage rock sound they released one Ep, and one full length album, however numerous member changes would plaque the band leaving founder, guitarist and lead vocalist Paula Pierce the only original member left by 1984. Regrouped the Pandoras would forge ahead and by 1986 their second full length album Stop Pretending, proved to be the height of their success with it's slicked over catchy garage pop rock sound, however issues within the band would resurface soon after the shelving and lack of record label support for their third full length album in 1987, Pierce decided an overhaul was needed and the band acquired a much more commercial hard rock sound by 1988, although the popular trend of the time in the music world, this change proved to achieve less then intended, although it open the band up to new fans, it left many die hard fans reeling in confusion along with many of the band members. The Pandoras released their fourth full length album in 1989, a live recording that even Paula Pierce was said to be unhappy with, and by 1990, Pierce was once again the only original member left, by 1991 Pierce was in the process of reforming yet again a new line up however this was cut short with the sudden death of Pierce. The legacy of the band continues to captivate it's fans and stories of Paula'a rock and roll antics still mystify many of their fans still 20 years after her death, Former members have gone on to reform the band in several versions, most noticeably in 2015 with a current line up of former bassist Kim Shattuck taking over lead vocals and guitar, Melanie Vammen on keyboards, former drummer Karen Blankfeld, on bass, and Sheri Kaplan on drums. Although the full legacy of the Pandoras and the revolving door of female musicians that came and went could fill the pages of a drama filled book, the music left behind from the said to be at times, eccentric rock genius of Pierce proves that they were one of the most underrated all female rock bands of our time. like us at https://www.facebook.com/She-Rox-All-Female-Bands-615368581896999/
