Tango Nomade

Nomade is the tango of the emigrés of the Río de la Plata. Is the tango of the successive diasporas, the itinerant tango, the tango of exile - perhaps the fundamental form of Argentine fate, wrote Borges. It is the tango (son of heterogeneous immigrants) that was born at the River Plate and spreads all around the planet; a tango that -as it reterritorializes- speaks now in diverse dialects.



This is the starting point of the present album, that states also another cross-breed: the minute alchemy between a character native of the popular musics and another coming from the classical sphere, who take the tango as meeting point. Renouncing to the vitality of the one world or to the wisdom of the other one would be a waste.



The choice of the repertory comes out of hedonism, which is another way of naming the common sense.



As to everyone, the tango waited for us.

¡Qué tranquilizador es escuchar músicos que pueden evitar que el tango se torne impopular! Parece una paradoja, pero no lo es así: sin la renovación de los clichés convencionales y la preservación simultánea de algunas características esenciales, el género estaría en coma, sobreviviendo a base de suero.



Los tangos grabados en este álbum por Eduardo Kohan y Juan María Solare demuestran que la brecha entre composición e interpretación puede ser mucho más pequeña de lo que habitualmente se cree. Nuevo y viejo se imbrican aquí tan firmemente que las grietas entre lo conocido y lo desconocido funcionan incluso orgánicamente. La tradición de la continuidad queda en pie - y se sigue avanzando.
