When the acoustic string quartet Sweet Plantain visited EVS, we handed them some solid body electrics and they took over the display area, playing a couple of their highly creative arrangements. Earl and Joe had visited before, but David and Orlando both said it was "like being in a candy store!" Our apolgies to those folks who tried to call in while this was going on!

This video has excerpts from a couple of Sweet Plantain's own arrangements. The first is Romulo Benavides' arrangement of the Cole Porter tune "Love for Sale." The second is a mashup of Kill Bill 2 and Mongo Santamaria's "Afro Blue" called "Afro Samurai" and arranged by Sweet Plantain founding member Eddie Venegas.
