I dont own the rights to this song. The Sons Of The Pioneers: Red River Valley. "Red River Valley" originally was printed in 1896 as "In the Bright Mohawk Valley," and a pencil manuscript of the verses in Iowa dates from 1879. But research by folklorist Edith Fowke reveals the song actually refers not to the Mohawk Valley in New York State or the Red River Valley in Texas, as many assumed, but to the Red River in Manitoba, Canada, that flows into Lake Winipeg. Fowke argues the song was sung in that region around 1870. In any event, "Red River Valley" has made its permanent mark among American folk songs. A movie by the same name was made in 1941, and the Sons of the Pioneers recorded it for that film.
