I'll Forget You Very Well is written in the vein of John Hartford's satirical material. It is kinda the cousin to the Coal Porters' song You Only Miss Her When She's Gone. It is both humorous and a warm bit of wordplay, it is not meant to be a tough guy's goodbye at all, no sir! I love the mandolin playing of the great Sierra Hull on this track and the punning references to The Beatles as well as Bob Dylan.
