Phoenix was inspired in part by Jenny Lawson's book "Furiously Happy". I wrote a blog post earlier this year about 'putting on the pants' as a metaphor for self care and motivation during times when our brains tell us lies.

I'm proud of this song and hope you like it too. We REALLY didn't feel like making a music video because it was below freezing at the beach. My sister Rachel joined me for the dancing at Fort Phoenix in Fairhaven MA. We frequented this beach as a family during the summers of my childhood. Summer might have been a better time to film this. My lips were so cold that the lip syncing was a challenge. You can actually see my lips turning blue as the music video progresses!
