Once upon a time in a land not too far away, actually just north of Boston, Laura Imhoff first picked up a guitar, the guitar that her mother had left her when she had moved on out. Laura would merely just pluck at the strings while singing her angsty teenage poetry. And really, that’s how it all started. While growing up on a small farm with her father and brother, her Sunday mornings were spent dancing around the kitchen singing Joni Mitchell and Crosby, Stills, and Nash at the top of her lungs. On the other hand Imhoff also listened to hip hop and the top 40 like any respectable teenager, but meanwhile was secret Ani DiFranco fan.

It only got better from there for Miss Laura Lee. Her senior of high school which only seems so long ago for the young singer/songwriter, entered in the local talent show. She ended up performing in front of hundreds of parents and her peers. That’s when it hit! That’s when Laura slowly began to creep into the music scene. Her first debut at an open mic was in 2004. The since closed Capo’s Open mic in Lowell, Massachusetts was the first to welcome her with open arms.

Since then Ms. Imhoff has migrated south to Boston, where she continues to play all around Boston, Cambridge, and Somerville. Laura Lee is growing more and more popular in the Boston area. She is a regular at the Burren in Somerville and other coffee shops in the area. Imhoff seduces people with her sexy, sultry voice and honest lyrics; hooking them with her stories of broken hearts, new loves, and other influences in her life.

"As for Laura Imhoff, I met her in Kerrville a few weeks back in a rainstorm and she sang a song for me that tore my heart a new one. A warm, quavering voice and great lyrics. She sings like she's sitting in a midwest kitchen, shelling peas and waiting for the Saturday night line dancin' down at the grange hall, where she'll get to see Bobby git drunk and cut in a fight. She knows she's going to have to drive him to the emergency room, so she's choosing which towel to drape across the back seat now while she sings to the new kittens sunning themselves through the screen door. Shelling peas, singing beautiful songs to nobody, and looking forward to dealing with the vagaries of men." - David Morreale (singer/songwriter and host of the Waterfront Hotel's SNAFU.)

“Listening to Laura Imhoff is like listening to her singing her diary just to you,” says one religious listener.

“Laura Imhoff, a Boston singer/songwriter, has 'a passionate energy',”-The Townman Paper from Andover, MA.

“Give Laura the stage and she’ll be the next big thing,” – Bartender at the Chit Chat Lounge in Haverhill, MA.
