Rico Won, formerly known as Rico Wondahman, born Henrik Franchetti 1980, raised in Gothenburg, Sweden, has been in to all kinds of music since day one, mainly hardrock when he was younger as he used to play the drums, but when he was around 10, his older brother, who also was a grafitti artist, introduced him to the hiphop culture and Rico fell in love instantly. Picked it up, started rapping on his own and the rest is history! He did his first live appearence at a youth center in Gothenburg when he was 13, but it wasn't until the year 2000 he started recording proffesionally, when he met up with rapper & producer Obnoxiuz. He did a lot of open mic sessions and freestyle battle competitions in his early career, with highlights at the Fatmilk Open 2003 & 2004, where he won in 2003 and ended runner up in 2004.In 2003 his debut EP "Works Of Wonder" was released and as soon as Rico came off tour he started to work on his sophomore release "Takin' Over". It was out in May 2004 on his own label "Works Of Wonder Entertainment" and after that Rico went on tour in Sweden and Germany. Some of the places Rico Won has rocked includes Stuttgart, Stockholm, The Roskilde Festival 2003, Darmstadt, The Hultsfreds Festival 2005, Oslo, Wuppertal, Malmo, The Swedish HipHop Awards 2004, Siegen, Buenos Aires and much more! He has rocked togehter with big names in Sweden like Timbuktu, Glaciuz, Paragon, DJ Taro, Organism 12, Jose Gonzales, Peshi, Form One, Obnoxiuz, Embee, Medina amongst others and opened for big international acts like Slum Village, Kool Keith, Kutmasta Kurt and Jeru Da Damaja."Takin' Over" was nomineed for best HipHop/Soul/R&B at the Swedish Independent Music Price award show 2004 (Manifest), and he joined in on Embee's solo album "Tellings From Solitaria" which won a swedish grammy for best HipHop/Soul/R&B in 2005! He has had high rotation on national swedish radio and at the end of 2004 the song "Wondahful", from Embee's album, ended up at a comfertable 6th place in the "25 Best Swedish Rap Songs 2004" according to Swedish Radio P3.Rico released a compilation / mixtape CD in fall 2005 called "Hate To Keep You Waiting" featuring both old and new, previously released and unreleased material that got left out during the recording of "Accept What You Can't Change". Mostly to compensate to his fans and everybody waiting for the album to drop since it took him over two years to finish it. But Rico never gave up and worked hard until it finally reached the stores on november 29th 2006. Produced by big names like Masse, DJ Large, Sam-E and Astma & Michel Rocwell, guest starring Form One, Jay-Json, Ashar Khan & Cos-M.I.C. from the Looptroop Rockers the album was already a classic the day it came out! After spending all those years working hard, focusing on music Rico felt a personal set back and had to quiet himself down from the music scene for a while. This led to an almost 3 year long break without doing hardly no music at all, besides working on small projects and guest appearances together with DJ Devastate, Maylay Sparks & new found friend / music-partner Roffe Ruff. After sorting out personal issues, 2010 was the year Rico found the inspiration and the lust to comeback and create on musical terms. And he did it with a bang. He jumped right back in the studio as if nothing ever happened and recorded 17 new songs in the period april-november which resulted in the new "release / mixtape / album" dropping on november 19th on his own label Works Of Wonder Entertainment. Featuring guest stars Promoe, Prop Dylan, Organismen, PST/Q, True of Serengeti, Roffe Ruff & OBX.The new music can be downloaded on www.stiladig.nuLadies and gentlemen. Rico Won is back!
