Lars Dahl-Jorgensen, founder of T-Rex Engineering, stopped by the shop to show off their highly anticipated analog tape delay pedal, The Replicator. Andrew, Alex, Shelby, and Joel put the pedal through the paces with a range of guitars: The Rock N Roll Relics Richards , a Fender Custom Shop Journeyman Relic Stratocaster (http://bit.ly/2zzF664), and a one-of-a-kind Gibson L-7C Goldtop from 1949. Last but not least, pushing out all of these sweet tape echo tones is the Supro 1622RT Combo.

The Replicator is T-Rex Engineering's take on the ultimate tape echo unit, complete with a motor, magnetic heads and a tape cartridge. The goal T-Rex set out to accomplish was to make a tape echo unit that could nail the sound quality of the old echo units, but surpass them in features. With the application of tap tempo, two playback heads for three output modes and a chorus mode that modulates the pitch of the echoes, we would say they nailed it.
