t's no secret that Canadian producer Rennie Foster has an unusual amount of releases on Detroit based labels for a little white b-boy dude from Canada. Appearing on Derrick May's iconic Transmat label, alongside underground imprints like Subject Detroit, Soiree, Wallshaker, Motech, Teknotika and working with artists like Aaron Carl (RIP), Gerald Mitchell (Los Hermanos), DJ3000, Claude Young, Gary Martin and others, a long time history with the Motor City techno community comes full circle here with Rennie's ultimate dark homage, Ashes 313. Don't get it twisted though, Rennie is no "fanboy", his alliance with this elite scene comes from a natural penchant for raw, no nonsense productions and his dedication to authentic, underground sub-culture and truthful, unpretentious thinking. The friendship between Rennie and Detroit techno music is grounded in legitimate experiences, not mythology. The bond is strong and tested... and so are these tracks.
