With countless vinyl and digital single releases, 2 full length albums and remixes for a diverse range of artists such as Swayzak, Orlando Voorn and DJ 3000. Rennie Foster has established himself over the past decade as one of the most recognizable Canadian names in underground dance music.
He has worked with legendary labels such as F-Communications, Synewave and Subject Detroit amongst many others and is championed as a true groundbreaker by industry legends like Derrick May, Laurent Garnier and Sasha.
His latest album "Blood Sugar" on leading Italian label Rebirth features the monster club hit "Devil's Water" that has been remixed by such artists as James Zabiela, The Youngsters and Kiki as well as licensed and charted by DJs like James Holden, Trentmoller, Dave Seaman and Pete Tong. The album also features collaborations with artist Moka Only of Swollen Members fame, and the recently departed Detroit legend Aaron Carl. Remixes of this album will be released March 2011 featuring Samuel L. Session, members of Cobblestone Jazz and DJ Yellow amongst others.
Rennie is currently running 2 labels, the digital imprint "Dirty Works" and the vinyl based label "RF Recordings" featuring artists such as Kaito (Hiroshi Watanabe) and former Trapez artist Shane Berry as well as featuring remixers like Raudive, Mark Broom and Jamie Anderson.
Rennie recently returned to Canada after living in Tokyo, Japan for 7 years where he reached LOUD Magazine's top 50 DJs in Japan ranking 3 years in a row (2010 at #22), a rare event for a foreigner. He released several Japan Only productions, including the CD "Soul Music for the Damned" that first introduced the "Devil's Water" phenomenon.
Rennie is currently working on a full length album for one of Greece's leading underground imprints "Klik Records" scheduled for release in Autumn 2011.
Rennie has also toured extensively playing all over Japan, Europe, especially France and Belgium, as well as New York City.
Rennie has headlined shows at Japan's biggest and most legendary venues including Yellow, Ageha, Unit, Air, Metro Kyoto and the monster Nagisa Festival.
Being away from Canada has not weakened his strong Canadian following, he returned to BC last year to headline the VEMF festival in Victoria and has now resumed a regular schedule of club gigs.
Rennie Foster is a former DMC judge, an active member of the Universal Zulu Nation and is currently sponsored by Vestax and Oyaide cables.
As well as maintaining a high profile role in the dance music industry, Rennie works as an A&R rep for macprovideo.com and raises twin daughters on his own as a dedicated single father.
Rennie Foster's sound is original, emotive and powerful exploring territory from deep house to high power techno and everything in between, always full of surprises.
All in all Rennie Foster is a hard working purveyor of high quality techno and house based music, a dedicated student of dance music's rich history and a steadfast believer in the bright future of electronic music.
