Ray, Goodman & Brown - Another Day (lp 'Ray, Goodman & Brown' Polydor Records 1979) - Video
PUBLISHED:  Dec 01, 2015
DESCRIPTION:
Ray, Goodman and Brown, as you will know I'm sure, were known as the Moments at the group's outset. In the Sixties and during much of the Seventies, they had many hits for the Stang Records imprint. Harry Ray recorded for Sugarhill Records. Joe Robinson married Sylvia Robinson, whose delicate vocal delivery can be heard on the likes of 'Pillow Talk' and 'L.A. Sunshine'. You couldn't get a greater contrast between those tracks, and the likes of Grandmaster Flash's 'The Message', and yet with Sylvia at the helm, she carefully steered her Sugarhill Records imprint to huge success by the early Eighties. The Moments re-marketed themselves as Ray, Goodman and Brown in 1979, and this track was featured on the group's debut, self-titled, Polydor release that year. 'Another Day' was met with a whimper back in the day, however, I would place the song alongside, say, Jean Carn's 'My Love Don't Come Easy', as a modern Soul classic. Hope you like this as much as I do.
