This third in a trifecta of Quarterlife Records releases of NYC DJ/producer Indicant. This is a hell of a package, inspired by Indicant's recent DJ sets at Cielo, Le Souk and other New York underground clubs. This release borrows an old-school 1980s booty-bass sample that you'll rememebr for sure. The Original Mix is full of state-of-the-art programming techniques, right from the get-go. The metallic bassline modulates and shifts around like a redheaded stepchild on Ritalin, and the big pad-filled breakdown leads up to a huge hands-up crescendo. Indicant whips out 2 other versions of the original, both with tricks of their sleeves: the Alternate Mix features a rhythmic changeup at the halfway point for a more alternative "triplet" feel, and the Gettoblasta Mix slows down at the halfway point for a bit of 90bpm old-school hiphop business. Quarterlife Records regular Royal Sapien brings the big love one more time with a sick & twisted breakbeat production. Multiple bassy kick drums shuffle around progressive melodic elements - a must for any progressive set that needs a shake-up with a bit o' breaks! Danish New Yorker Peter Munch brings to the release an exquisitely crafted tech-house interpretation. It's clear that this is the product of analog synthesizers, and the track would work perfectly mid-set to start taking things to the next level. Don't sleep on this release!
